In a remote swamp, an alligator egg becomes exposed to a meteor. What results is a mutated form of alligator. When it is caught in a fishing net and bites a fisherman, the Gator's essence is transferred from amphibian to human. This is the starting point for a metamorphosis into a bloodthirsty half-human, half-amphibian killer that begins to terrorize the fishing communities along the bayous of South Louisiana. Two intreped hunters set out to put an end to the creature's reign of terror by following its trail of death and devistation from the bayous
